Tips to Help Keep Crime Down in Springbrook:
-Please encourage your children not to play on your neighbors lawns without permission. This can create a liability issue for them from an insurance standpoint, and can lead to damage of property.
-Unattended packages on your porch that are visible from the street can become a temptation for people passing through the neighborhood. If you know that you will not be home when a package is delivered, consider asking your neighbor to keep an eye out for it. Also, delivery men usually look for a suitably hidden place to leave the package, but you can also sometimes give them instructions of where to leave the package when you place the order for the item. If you would like to add something to your porch to help conceal packages, but are unsure if it would pass the HOA standards, please contact the Board or the Office and ask about it.
-Remember to keep your fence gates and backyard sheds locked whenever possible to prevent crime. We have not been made aware of any incidents of theft in the neighborhood, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.
- Use good lighting around the perimeter of your home.
- Use good lock security and consider getting a monitored alarm system (it can lower your insurance rates as well as keep your family safe!)
- Keep shrubs trimmed.
- Lock all doors and windows whenever your house is unoccupied.
- Let a trusted neighbor know when you are on vacation. Stop any deliveries (newspapers, etc) during this time so that you are not advertising the fact that you are not home.
